10.10.2025 — Today, at FF Solar, we pay tribute to Michael Deppner, a visionary engineer and Technical Director who, over more than three decades, made a decisive contribution to the development of solar energy within our company.
Michael had been part of FF Solar for over 30 years, having been invited to join the company by Franz Wagner, his longtime friend. An electrical engineer and former sea captain, he was an exemplary professional whose dedication and expertise left a profound and lasting mark on the company’s history.
During his years as a sea captain, Michael pursued a hobby of drawing electronic circuit diagrams — a clear reflection of the curiosity and fascination with technology that he carried throughout his life. That passion eventually led him to FF Solar, where he began his journey as an engineer in 1991 and later took on the role of Technical Director in 2006 — a position he fulfilled with precision, commitment, and deep dedication until today.
He often shared with us that “his interest in solar energy began in childhood” — a phrase that perfectly captures the visionary spirit and passion that defined his life.
His passing leaves a great void but also a legacy of knowledge, friendship, and dedication that will remain with us. To his family and friends, we extend our most sincere condolences.
We remember our colleague and friend Michael with gratitude and appreciation — his presence profoundly marked all those who had the privilege of working with him.
